What do bears and wildfires have in common? According to Molly Mowery in her column "Life in the Wilderness City" in the May/June issue of NFPA Journal, human activities create both the trash that attracts bears and mountain lions to urban environments and many of the wildfires that devastate land and homes in the wildland/urban interface. But there may be a common solution to both problems.
