The red bus has delivered many of the players. The scene around the enormous continental breakfast is chaotic. Small circles of players eat and enjoy the company they are with. The conversations vary widely from old friends catching up to connected groups discussing strategy and even some trash talk between old rivals that are friends, but will soon be combatants. They will go at it tooth and nail in the committee meeting and meet at the bar this evening for a friendly recap of today’s game.
There are seven of the nineteen CMP’s (code making panels) meeting today in beautiful Redondo Beach California.
Today’s starting line up:
CMP 1 Chair: Gil Moniz Staff Liaison: Allen Fraser
CMP 2 Chair: Mark Hilbert Staff Liaison: Kim Shea
CMP 3 Chair: Paul Casparro Staff Liaison: Lee Richardson
CMP 5 Chair: Nathan Philips Staff Liaison: Chris Coache
CMP 12 Chair: Tim Croushore Staff Liaison: Dick Roux
CMP 13 Chair: Don Bliss Staff Liaison: Michael Fontaine
CMP 14 Chair: Robert Jones Staff Liaison: Bob Benedetti
Like the managers meeting at home plate each session starts off with the Staff Liaison reading the rules of fair play.
As the rules finish the Chairman will add their comments, and then the metaphoric “Play Ball.” Stay tuned to see how the meetings go over the next few days!-Bill Burke, NFPA Electrical Division Manager
