The days are shorter, the outside temperature is lower, and in some places it’s cold, icy, and snowy. No matter where you live, winter brings a change in season and a time to think about home heating safety.

We at NFPA want you and your family, especially the little ones, to stay safe and warm this season. We have a fun and activity that the whole family can do, together, to prepare for the cold winter nights ahead. Download Sparky's “A Warm Family Meal” game and play with your family!

The front page of the game is a heating safety checklist. Print it and hang it on your refrigerator to remind every member of your family to stay safe and warm this (and every) winter.

Heating safety is so important, especially if you have children in the home. I like to stay proactive and lessen the danger by calling my local Newtown heating expert to come and check out my system. It gives me reassurance when I tuck my kids in at night.
