The requirements for using antifreeze in a sprinkler system have been constantly changing over the past few years. For New Englanders (or anyone willing to drive/fly/ski to New England) looking for a comprehensive look at the "how and why" behind these changes and an update on where NFPA 13, 13R , 13D and 25 landed on this topic, I will be presenting this information at the 11th Biennial Fire Protection Systems Product Show held in Randolph, MA this thursday at 3:00 PM. For more information, or to register for this event, visit the New England Association of Fire Protection System Designers website at www.neafpsd.com.

CAN WE JUST TRANSLATE THE CONSTANT VALUE OF FRICTION COEFFICIENT OF 4.52 OF HAZEN-WLLIAM TO THE DARCY-WEISBACH FORMULA BY PROPORTION OF SPECIFIC DENSITY OF WATER TO GLYCERINE-WATER
SOLUTION OF 40%?
THERE SHOULD BE AN EQUIVALENT VALUE IN HAZEN-WILLIAM FORMULA OF THAT CONSTANT 4.52 ADJUSTMENT, SO WE CAN CONTINUALLY USE THE SAME STANDARD CALC PROGRAM, SAY USE THE SPECIFIC GRAVITY PROPORTION.
IS THAT SO COMPLEX THAT WE HAVE TO DO THE DARCY-WEISTBACH FORMULA, WITH THAT OF MOODY DIAGRAM TO CHANGE THAT CONSTANT 4.52 ON PLAIN WATER BY HAZEN-WILLIAM FORMULA?

How long does it takes to get a response on your website?
